See below for how to commission a new work for you and your ensemble!
Working together on a new piece of music is an exciting journey for everyone involved. It is usually a good idea to contact me six months before you plan to use the music in rehearsals. This gives us enough time to discuss commission details, pick a text, sort out any copyrights, and allow for the creative process. The cost of a commission depends on several factors such as the voicing, instrumentation, how challenging/accessible the music is, the length of the work, and how soon you need it completed. Once everything is sorted out, we'll put together a commission contract so we're both on the same page about the project.
If my schedule allows, I'd love to work with your group as you prepare for the premiere. In that case, I'd ask you to cover the travel and lodging costs for my visit. Feel free to reach out to me if you're interested in commissioning a new piece!
